Following last Saturday’s defeat against Chelmsford, the Beavers finally open their home campaign with an equally tough match against Havant & Waterlooville on Tuesday.

Although the scoreline suggests a one sided game, the team were better than 4-1 and after the match, Gary felt that it was a game where 2-1 might have been a better reflection.

Gary thought it was the inexperience of some of the players that contributed to the result but that this would soon sort itself.

Only doubt for the Havant game may be Shaun McAuley but a decision will be made on the day as the rest of the squad will be available.

Havant will be a tough test, given their relegation last season from the National League but that will be all the better to to blood the young squad further.

The new home kit will make its appearance in the game so let’s hope it makes a difference to the team!
