Boro land former Crawley and Southend man

neil jenkins Image 1

HAMPTON & Richmond Borough have landed experienced left-back Neil Jenkins from Sutton United.

As Sutton are looking for a more youthful squad to work with before going full time next year, Jenkins (pictured) has been allowed to find himself another club.

He began his career at Wimbledon before joining Southend United in 2002, collecting an England U20 cap while at Roots Hall.

Two seasons later he then joined Crawley Town before hooking up with Eastbourne Borough in 2006, where he made over 170 appearances before moving to Sutton last summer.

Hampton have also captured striker Joel Ledgister from Sutton, this time on a permanent deal. As Sutton has just signed a new forward, he was surplus to requirements.

Ledgister had a successful loan spell with the Beavers earlier this season, and has the unusual record of scoring both for and against them this season.

Beavers manager Mark Harper said "I spoke to Sutton over the weekend just as an enquiry about Joel and what his position was currently, and was more than happy when they said he was going to be released. He's a good honest player who I hope will be with us for a very long time."

Fellow front-man Tobi Alabi's loan from Millwall has also been extended by a further 28 days.
