A late winner secures the points for Hampton U18s
Hampton & Richmond Borough U18’s scored late on against Northwood FC to win 2-1. Gaining their first win of the season. Whilst two U16 players Jake Brown and Charlie Collins made impressive starts for Hampton.

Northwood FC game into the game straight away. Letting their presence known which was prevalent throughout the game. Jorden Coles came close with his header just going over the bar following a free kick.
Hampton also let Northwood know of their presence with a chance coming a couple of minutes later. Captain, Theo Clayton played in Charlie Jaggers who went around the keeper with an open net in front of him. Northwood defender managed to put in a tackle before Jaggers could make it 1-0 early on.
In the 13th minute, Hampton made it 1-0. A corner from Louis Holmes found Anas Lamti in the box who scored from six yards out.
Hampton was then put under pressure for a short period. Relying on goalkeeper, Dominic Bombourg to make a great save, denying Northwood’s Ollie Lawford by tipping his shot up against the crossbar.
The pressure continued and Northwood made it 1-1 before the 30-minute mark. Bombourg came out to collect the ball, where Lawford was able to get around Bombourg and finish into an empty net.
In the 40th minute, Clayton took a shot from 35 yards out. It was a great effort, however, his shot hit the crossbar. What a goal it would have been.
At the half, both teams had an equal amount of chances. Both showing bright spells.
Just after the whilst blew for the start of the second half, Northwood’s Samean Olarein shot from the right-hand side of the goal hit the bottom left post.
Hampton made a substitute. Holmes comes off for Serge Lutumba
Northwood had a great chance to take the lead. Following an unfortunate mistake from Brown allowed Lawford in one on one, with his shot just going wide.
Hampton’s Vijay Seenath had two chances in quick succession from almost the same place on the pitch. Northwood’s goalkeeper, Joel Smith made two great saves to deny Seenath.
Hampton made a substitute. Vijay Seenath comes off for Benjamin Gyan.
Late drama added a big penalty call from Hampton who believed Collins was taken out in the box. The penalty wasn't given. Both teams had offside goals, with Collins scoring the offside goal for Hampton. That would have been his first goal for Hampton U18’s in his first start.
Hampton made a substitute. Sonny Cambridge comes off for Dylan Wright.
Late drama concluded. In the 89th minute, the debutant, Collins turned a defender in the box with a great skill and slotted the ball under the keeper, to make it 2-1.
Northwood didn't put their heads down after conceding. Olarein danced through the defence of Hampton and managed to pull a shot off. Bombourg made a great save to deny Northwood getting a point.
Full time finished 2-1 to Hampton U18’s. Claiming their first win of the season which was hard fought. With both teams having numerous chances. Both teams had to defend well to deny each other. Despite a mistake from Brown, he made an impressive debut, defending well. Collins also made an impressive debut, scoring late on to win the game.
