Results Round Up - Sunday 13th September

3 years ago By Stefan Rance

The season kicked off for the majority of our age groups this weekend and there were some great games played across the region.

Both the Under 13 and Under 15 sides progressed in their respective County Cup competitions. The Under 13 team had a tough trip to Harrow Premier side Ruislip in their 1st round tie. A single first half goal from Jake Brown secured passage to the next round. The Under 15’s travelled to Spelthorne Sports and had a relatively comfortable 9-0 win to progress. Sami Davies started off the scoring with further goals coming from Joe Quincey (3), Cody McHale (2), Dylan Randall, a debut goal for Reece Scotchford and an own goal.

In the Surrey Primary League the Under 17’s suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat at Teddington Athletic. The side saw themselves 3-0 down after half an hour but battled back with goals from Sam Wallance, Joe Tullett and Ollie Bartholomew as well as having a goal disallowed but couldn’t quite snatch a point.

In the Surrey Youth League it was a slower start for the sides with several age groups not kicking off till the 20th. The Under 18’s started with a solid 2-1 win over Walton Casuals with Matt Ross and Josh Strauss scoring. The Under 12 Youth drew 2-2 at home to Mitcham Park, whilst the Under 12 Colts lost 2-0 to Halliford Colt Boys. In their first 11 aside game the Under 13 Colts lost 6-2 at home to Rocks Lane with Piers Cramp scoring both goals, including a 25 yard screamer.

The Under 10 Youth lost 3-2 to St Hellier Youth in their opening game, both goals coming from Jackson Birch and were unlucky not to nick a draw. At Under 9’s the three teams had their first taste of 7 aside football. The Under 9 Bucks won 4-2 against Spelthorne Sports Colts, Josh Rowe, Tommy Rance and Jack Lay (2) scoring in a very competitive game. The Colts side also won 4-2 with Riley Vaughen, Ellis Sale-Bourne and Cass Fried-Jones (2) helping the side to victory. The Stags side containing several new players lost 5-1 to Halliford Colt Boys in a good performance that saw them draw the second period 1-1. Tommy Rance scoring for the side late on.

In friendly action the Under 8 Colts beat Wandgas 6-1 with goals coming from William Burton (3), Owen Kimber (2) and Joe Morris.

Next weekend sees the remainder of the sides start their campaigns for the season.
