HRBFC Youth - Weekend Round Up 4th October

By Stefan Rance

October started with a bang as there were last minute winners, great comebacks and solid defensive showings across the board.

“Who needs the premier league when you have this!” Paul Hannah - Under 9 Colts Manager

At Under 9’s there were nail-biting games for the Bucks and Colts teams. The Bucks travelled to Ashtead and eventually won 3-2 in an exceptionally competitive game. The side took the lead through Caelen Wright in the first half but with 5 minutes to go Josh Rowe equalised and the last minute of the game the same player hit a shot in to the top corner. The Under 9 Colts contested a tight game against Mitcham Park where defences were on top, good work from Riley Vaughan and Jacob Hannah at the back kept Mitcham Park at bay and they were rewarded when Ellis-Terry Sales-Bourne scored from the outside of the box in the last minute. There was a 6-1 defeat for the Under 9 Stags against Kinngston Town, Sofiane Tahir scoring for the second week in a row.

At Under 8 level it was a tournament weekend for all three teams and good results all round. The Bucks team won 2 and drew 1. Starting with a 1-1 draw against Old Isleworthians they followed it up with two 1-0 wins over Halliford Colts and Bracknell Town. Alfie Reed, Chester Gregory and Archie McKenna the scorers. The Colts drew 1and won 2 of their games, the wins coming with a 6-2 scoreline against AFC West End with Owen Kimber netting 4 and a 2-1 victory against Claygate. They had started with a 1-1 draw against Met Police with Joe Morris scoring. The Stags only had 2 games and picked up a win and a defeat. They started with a 2-0 win over Hampton Rangers with Alfie Robert scoring twice, however they then lost 9-0 to Kew Jaguars.

Both Under 7s sides had good results with the Colts scoring 8 against Claygate Royal Griffins and the Stags 7 against Wandgas with encouraging performances from all the boys as they get used to 5 aside football.

In Cup action there were wins for the Under 18’s, Under 15’s and Under 13 HRBFC side whilst the Under 13 Colts lost 5-1. The 18’s won 4-2 after extra time against Walton Casuals Juniors having been 2-0 down with 10 minutes to go. Goals from Alex Cook, Adam Rutherford, Charlie John and Ollie Costa. Under 13s won through 6-0 against Shelton Jake Brown scoring 5 with Josh Shayestah scoring as well. The Under 15s won 8-2 over Ewell Saxons to progress there were hatricks from Sami Davis and Theo Clayton and Reece Scotchford and Kayden Archibald adding one each. The 13 Colts lost 5-1 against Esher in a good performance with only 10 players.

Both the Under 10 sides suffered defeat with the HRBFC side losing 4-1 at Halliford Colts with Bailey Berry scoring whilst the Colts lost 3-1 at home to Lyne FC. The Under 17s lost 3-1 Albury with Freddie Kemm scoring and the Under 14 Girls drew 2-2 against a very strong Ascot United side. The Under 12’s HRBFC side won a thriller against Staines Albion 4-3 at Kingsfield with a winner 5 minutes from the end of time to continue their excellent start to the season. The Under 12 Colts lost 4-1 to Whitton Wanderers in a game where they never really got going.

At Under 14 level the HRBFC side drew 2-2 with Manorcroft United with Brandon Zapanta scoring both goals whilst the Colts lost 8-3 to a very good Wallington Athletic side. Finally the Under 11 HRBFC side were involved in another high quality game going down 5-3 to Whitton Wanderers. Goals from Suryaksh Tewatia (2) and debut goal for Cameron Paul.
