HRBFC Youth - Programme Notes Wingate & Finchley

By Stefan Rance

Information and updates from the Wingate & Finchley programme

“We are, currently, one of the biggest clubs in terms of teams and players in the Surrey Youth League.” Hampton & Richmond Borough Youth

It’s been a busy summer for the youth section with the most exciting being the name change and affiliation to the main club becoming much closer. Like all the teams associated with Hampton & Richmond Borough we rely on parent volunteers to help keep the club going, both on Sunday’s and with the day to day administration.

Before the Aldershot game we gathered as many of the players who were available, it being the summer holidays, and they got the chance to have their photo taken with the first team and unified team which was a great experience for them.

At the club AGM Mat Morris took up the mantle of club chairman replacing Philip John who has done an outstanding job as chairman over the past few seasons. Phil has taken the role of honouree vice-president and will be looking after his Under 18 side for their final year in Youth football. Matt currently has boys in the Under 15’s and Under 7’s so has several years involvement with the club already behind him.

Many of the sides had summer tournament success with tournament wins for the Under 12’s, Under 10’s and Under 9’s. The Under 8’s enjoyed several unbeaten tournaments as did the Under 7’s and Under 6 sides.

Our season starts to kick off on the 13th September and this year we will be entering 22 sides in the Surrey Youth League, Surrey Primary League and Surrey Girls league with around 250 players registering for the club. We are, currently, one of the biggest clubs in terms of teams and players in the Surrey Youth League.

There are still some sides looking for players so if you are interested in playing for the club then there are some contact details below

Under 12s (Starting Year 7 in September) are looking for a Goalkeeper for the coming season. Contact manager Craig on

Under 13 Colts (Year 8 from September) are looking for a couple of players to add to their squad and a goalkeeper as well. Contact Richard on

There are also spaces available for the Under 9 Stags, Under 8 Stags and Under 7 Colts. For more information on these use the contact form on

During the coming season there will be a section of the programme which will contain information on all the teams accomplishments and information about results, tables and fixtures. If you need more information about the Youth section then please take a look at our website.
