HRBFC Youth - Programme Notes East Thurrock United

2 years ago By Stefan Rance

Programme notes from the Youth section which appeared in the East Thurrock programme....

“Hampton & Richmond Borough Youth fully support the Respect campaign which all our coaches, players and parents sign up to every year. ” Mat Morris, HRBFC Youth Chairman

Last week we started to receive some of our fixtures for the coming season, as you can see in the programme we have included, for the first time, all the league tables that are allowed to be published. For those unaware the Surrey Youth League, along with many other leagues up and down the country, do not start playing competitive football until Under 12 (Year 7).

Under the FA’s DNA of the Game scheme the focus on younger age groups is development and enjoyment ahead of results and trophies. Encouraging players to express themselves without worrying that a mistake may cost the team a trophy or some points.

Now all players want to do well and, of course, will remember when they win and lose but this system is in place to take some of the pressure off players which can be applied by coaches and parents.

So for our teams from Under 7’s to Under 11’s we can include details of their games in match reports but not record any tables or publish them. The League does have grading in place so throughout the season teams can be moved to play at an appropriate ability level so that they are being challenged to improve or moved from a group where they are struggling.

Hampton & Richmond Borough Youth fully support the Respect campaign which all our coaches, players and parents sign up to every year. What this means is that there is code of conduct that we adhere to throughout the season and applies when dealing with opposition, match officials and other supporters.

If you want to learn more about the Respect Campaign, the Ryman League are also supporters of it and all the teams associated with the club adhere to it as well then go to www.thefa.com/respect

Sponsors

We are grateful to all our sponsors for their continued support of the players and their contribution to helping the club run. Some of our teams are on the lookout for sponsors so if your company can help in anyway then contact us via the website www.hamptonyouthfc.co.uk.

As well as names on the shirts sponsors get placement on the website and will be included in the HRBFC programme as well
