The departure of long standing manager Dave Marlow meant that the ladies team have had an unsure pre season, however have stayed as a team and become stronger with the introduction of new players Carla Loosley, Elsa Quinton and Mel Telling. With the much welcomed new players to the team all that was needed was for a manager to be appointed. Following a meeting with the club we are pleased to announce that Leah Ambridge will be joining H+R as the Ladies Team Manager.
Leah has a very impressive footballing CV, with her playing career spanning over clubs such as; Watford Ladies, Fulham Ladies First Team and Centre of Excellence, Chelsea Ladies First Team, QPR and many more. Not only has she an impressive playing career Leah has also been involved in coaching many high profile teams, such as; Watford Ladies & Boys Academy, Chelsea Girls Academy, QPR Ladies First and Reserve Teams and various Middlesex teams. Her management of Bedfont Sports Under 18’s and Under 8’s shows Leah’s commitment to developing youth players for the adult game.
There is no doubt that Leah’s knowledge and understanding of the game will be highly valued as she hopes to take the Ladies Team to the next Level and also develop the female section of the club by bringing in Academy, Youth and Reserve Teams. Leah said; ‘I am really looking forward to working with the Ladies team who are a very well established, organised team with a successful future ahead. I believe I can take the Ladies team to the next level and develop the female section of the club with the help of all involved in Hampton and Richmond Borough FC.’
A quote from one of the ladies team players shows the excitement of the whole team at the appointment of Leah and also the view of the season ahead; ‘Leah’s commitment and dedication to the team has been welcomed by all players. The team are now very positive about the season ahead and are determined to build on narrowly missing out on promotion last year by 4 points.
