Two points dropped at the Bulpit
Despite a two goal lead with a half hour left, the Beavers were denied a win by a late Crusaders equaliser
Hampton were 5 minutes away from taking home a deserved away win, but had to settle for the team's 3rd draw in a week, and this the second from a winning position.
New loan signing Harry Darling made his debut alongside Jack Cook in the centre of the defence but it was keeper Sam Howes the team had to be thankful for as with just 11 mins played, he had to leap to push James Clark's free kick over the bar when it looked like it was aiming for the top corner.
Hampton began to settle and got their reward midway through the half. Ryan Moss being bundled over in the box as he continued his run on goal, leaving the referee not much option but to award the penalty. The travelling support were understandably nervous about kicks from the penalty spot, but Max Kretzschmar eased their worries as he struck a powerful shot past Lewis Ward and into the net.
The Beavers looked confident with a lead behind them, and it as nearly 2-0 just before the half hour as the impressive Malachi Napa fired a shot just over the bar.
Minutes later, it looked as if it was 2-0 as Darling's header sneaked past Ward and into the net, but the referee immediately disallowed the goal for a push by the young defender, which looked a little on the harsh side.
The expected second goal finally arrived early in the second half as Napa's sweetly struck low drive flew through the box and past Ward to give the team a deserved lead.
However, the two goal advantage lasted only a little over 10 mins as an unmarked Clark hit a well-placed side foot volley past Howes from Bignall's cross.
The hosts clearly had the wind in their sails and the Beavers were occasionally struggling to fend them off at times and with 5 minutes left, the Crusaders got their equaliser as Bignall managed to force home the ball from a couple of yards after Sam Howes had forced away Stonehouse's cross.
With just a minute or two left, it could easily have gone bad for the Beavers, Howes having to block Stefan Brown's point blank header but the Beavers held on to grab a point but given the lead, it felt like points dropped.
