Beavers under-cut by Tudors
Despite having the majority of the chances, the Beavers come home goalless and point-less
A SOFT Kaloczi header just before halftime defeated the Beavers despite the team creating most of the best chances and putting the hosts under pressure for long periods in the second half.
Hampton stared brightly and had the first chance through Shaun McAuley within 5 minutes and were looking slightly the better side in the early stages as they battled up the Vauxhall Road slope.
Chinua Cole put a header on target midway through the half but Walker in the Hemel goal caught it easily before Max Kretzschmar's snap shot forced the keeper into a diving save.
The first half never really opened up, with both sides by now cancelling out the other as the home side came back into the match.
With the half time break a couple of minutes away, the Tudors earned a free kick on the Hampton right as Joe Howe was bundled over after some snappy footwork. The kick was clipped into the crowded box where Kaloczi's glancing header gave Howes no chance.
Although there was only seconds to the break, the Beavers almost got right back on terms as Kretzschmar's neat header forced Walker to fling himself across goal to keep it out of the net.
The second half saw the Beavers put Hemel under pressure, creating a number of chances, firstly with Moss and Cook having headed chances which couldn't find the target.
Just after the hour, Hampton were almost caught napping as Howes had to smartly out to block Miles shot, before the young keeper had to dive at the feet of Sheringham.
Kretzschmar lifted the team once more on 70 minutes as he stepped up to take a free kick won by Cole. His driven attempt had to be punched clear by Walker for a corner. That kick was met at the back post by Charlie Wassmer, but like a lot of the others, it flew wide.
With 10 minutes to go, Brendan Kiernan had his best chance of the night with a shot from the edge from the edge of the box that took a deflection before Walker got a hand on it to divert it for a corner.
Not long afterwards, Christian Jolley unleashed a rocket-like shot that Walker only just got a hand to, lifting the ball over the bar as the Beavers started to throw everything at the home team; and after Kiernan's shot with a few minutes to go, it was clear the night wasn't one for Hampton as the home team shut up shop.
