Beavers Rocked by Ellul's winner
By Rob Overfield
The Beavers suffered their first defeat of the season as East Thurrock took the points.
Dowse put out almost the same team that started against Eastbourne Borough with Billy Bishop making his first start for the club in goal and Seb Brown returned, on the bench as cover for Aaron Howe.
Hampton took the initiative immediately with Leon Solomon having the first half chance but it was the visitors who forced the first save as Craddock's freekick rebounded back to him, his shot was easily gathered by keeper Billy Bishop.
Midway through the half, Josh Casey managed to get in a cross from the right, and it was met at the back post by Christian Jolley but his header was straight at Lidakevicius in the Rocks goal and easily saved.
Just after the half hour, Kabamba picked up a loose ball in midfield and his shot from 25 yards forced a diving save from Lidakevicius.
Hampton could so easily have taken the lead going into half time as Tom Jelley's free kick beat Lidakevicius but clipped the bar as it went over.
The second half opened with East Thurrock on the attack and they immediately reaped the benefit as substitute Harry Honesty was brought down in the box. Ben Harlow stepped up to send keeper Bishop the wrong way.
The Rocks were stretching the Beavers, Honesty sent a header over the bar and the Beavers looked on the ropes as the visitors looked more likely to score, but on 56 minutes the Beavers equalised.
Jamal Lowe's pressure on the Rocks defender Michael Clark, saw the defender try and chest the ball back to Lidakevicius but there was no power in it, and Lowe was able to nip in front, take the ball, round the keeper and side foot home.
Hampton then retook the initiative in the game as Jamal Lowe nearly made it 2-1 with an audacious back heel past Lidakevicius, but the shot was cleared off the line.
With less than 15 minutes to go, Honesty had a powerful shot beaten away by Bishop but the young keeper was powerless to prevent the winner, as a loose ball in the Hampton box was not cleared.
It was gathered just inside the box by Rocks defender Joe Ellul and his shot bobbled into the bottom corner of the net via a deflection.
