Beavers go nap again!
The Beavers took another stride towards the title with a comfortable 5-1 victory over a Brentwood Town side reduced to 10 men.
The game opened at a furious pace and both teams had multiple chances inside the first 15 minutes, the nearest being Jamal Lowe hitting the post in the 7th minute, but the Beavers took the lead on 23 minutes as Leon Solomon clipped a neat shot from the edge of the box into the top corner of the net, giving keeper Ollie Bowles no chance.
2 minutes later, the Beavers were penalised a little harshly for a handball in the box and Brentwood Town were given a penalty. Robbie Rees stepped up to take the kick, however keeper Mark Smith chose right and blocked the attempt and the chance was lost.
Almost immediately after that, Jamal Lowe picked up the ball inside the Town box and slid the ball under Bowles to make it 2-0.
Brentwood got back into the game on 33 minutes as Moussa Diarra was unable to clear the ball, trying to hook the ball over his head. Alex Teniola's pressure won him the ball off Diarra and he took advantage of the mistake to hit a crisp shot under Smith.
The game then turned a little scrappy but just before the break, Nicke Kabamba tried to beat Bowles again but his shot was wide of the post.
The Beavers killed off the game almost immediately after the restart as Nicke Kabamba nodded the ball on into Brendan Kiernan's path. Kiernan cut inside and fired a shot into the goal, and it took a deflection as it beat Bowles.
Just before the hour, Brentwood Town skipper Martyn Stokes launched into a crude two-footed challenge on Tom Beere which earned him a straight red card.
The Beavers now held the upper hand, the front three of Jamal Lowe, Brendan Kiernan and Nicke Kabamba causing no end of trouble for the overstretched Brentwood back four and it was only a matter of time before the thin blue line broke.
It managed to hold on until 78 minutes as the Beavers pressed once too often for the visitors. Substitute Dean Sinclair was the architect as he played in Tom Beere and his accurate shot across goal on 78 minutes beat Bowles and flew inside the post.
The Beavers scented another 5 goal haul at Beveree and with just 5 minutes to go, they managed it as Charlie Moone with a simple tap in at the back post after a cross managed to take a deflection or two across goal to roll into his path.
