Beavers through to Final with easy win

Preseason opener saw Hampton's new squad impress...

The Beavers eased into the final of the Jimmy Hill / Geoff Harvey Memorial Tournament with a very comfortable 4-0 victory over Tonbridge Angels.

Dowse put out a strong side and they looked it from the off as Christian Jolley created a couple of chances within the first few minutes before the Beavers took an early lead through Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick. Jolley took the ball to the bye-line, and then pulled it back to Jamal Lowe, his pass finding Hippolyte-Patrick free in the box to beat Tonbridge keeper diBenardo.

Hampton continued to press with Jolley at the heart of most of the good play as first Nicke Kabamba and Nathan Collier were unable to make the most of the opportunities created by the wide man.

On 38 minutes, the Beavers notched a second as Jamal Lowe (pictured) ghosted into space to slip a Kabamba pass under the despairing dive of diBenardo.

The Beavers were looking very comfortable, making a very good Tonbridge line up look pretty ordinary and on the stroke of half time, they killed the game off as Hippolyte-Patrick got his second with a fine finish from close range.

After the interval, both teams made changes and Tonbridge looked a more coherent side with the changes as the Beavers too gave some trialists a run out.

On the hour the game, if it wasn't already dead, was soon made so as Nicke Kabamba came inside from the left, waltzing round the defender and firing home past the keeper from about 12 yards.

The Angels, for all their possession, never really looked like breaking the new central defensive partnership of Jay Gasson and Kieran Murphy and with 10 minuutes to go, the Beavers could have embarrassed the Kent side as trialist Aaron Lamore lifted a nice cross into the area which Kabamba couldn't quite get over and his header flew over the bar.

The Beavers will now play Hayes & Yeading Utd tomorrow at 3pm.
