Beavers victors in Senior Cup
Two goals in 3 minutes from Nicke Kabamba and Eddie Hutchinson set up the Beavers for a close win against Hayes & Yeading in the Middx Senior Cup.
The Beavers were looking the better during the first half hour on a heavy surface and were slightly on top but not overwhelmingly so, and they managed to grab a well taken lead after both sides had struck the post.
Jerome Federico was causing some trouble down the right and having beaten the full back Taylor, drove a low cross into the box which was met by an alert Nicke Kabamba at the near post to prod home.
Two minutes later, the Beavers got a second and Federico was involved once again His pass inside was dummied over by Tom Jelley and Eddie Hutchinson was on hand to spin and dab the ball home via the post from about 12 yards
Max Worsfold retrieved a goal for the hosts with some 15 minutes to go, despite what appeared to be an obvious foul on Diarra by Scott in the corner during the build-up AND the ball appearing to be well out of play in the process.
But the Beavers held on to win 2-1 as neither side looked likely to get another and their reward is a home quarter-final tie against Enfield Town sometime next month.
