Hawks downed at foggy Beveree
The Beavers booked their place in the 3rd round of the Isthmian League Cup with a much improved display, thanks to two goals from Duncan Culley.
The Beavers started brightly with Culley firing a shot from 35 yards just over the bar with Thompson struggling to get back into position, after 8 minutes.
Hampton kept Harlow on the back foot with chances for Bignall and another for Culley but it was the Hawks who took the lead through Jared Small on 27 minutes, who neatly converted David Cowley's cross at the far post.
It was now Harlow who were making the running as a Ben Glasgow volley from the edge of the box flew over the bar, but the vistors lead was destined to last just 10 minutes.
After 37 minutes, a disputed free kick on 30 yards was hit exquisitely by Culley past Harlow keeper Ed Thompson, the keeper groped at thin air as he dived despairingly across goal.
The Beavers came out with more purpose in the second half and Culley scored his second as a loose ball in the box flew into his path, striking his shin and rolling in.
The game lost its tempo after this as the light mist descended across the ground, with hosts seeing more of the ball and on the hour Small broke free on the right, his shot flying right at Mark Smith.
Hampton had brought on the subs by now and Jerome Federico got the third on 79 minutes. After finding space on the left hand side, his clever curling shot from the left flew into the top right corner, leaving Thompson stranded.
In stoppage time, Federico could have had a second as Culley managed to slip the ball across the box to him, but with the goal at his mercy, he managed to blast the ball over the bar, clipping the woodwork as it went when it was easier to score in an open goal.
In the end, Federico's miss was unimportant as there was still time for the returning Ben Harris to wrap up the result for the Beavers, slotting home a simple finish from 6 yards.
