Difficult double-header for Dowse

1 month ago By Rob Overfield

Tricky away trips this weekend for the team out west.

This weekend sees the Beavers have two, on paper, difficult away matches that will give them a stiff test.

Tomorrow sees the boys travel to Bulpit Lane to take on Hungerford Town.

The Crusaders ended above the Beavers last season, but due to ground grading issues, weren't allowed to take their place in the playoffs.

Also this season, Bobby Wilkinson has left them to take charge of our old rivals Wealdstone, so the team is somewhat in flux at the moment.

On Monday, the team then travels to Evesham to take on Gloucester City.

The last time we played the Tigers was back in 2013 when we played them in the 4th qualifying round of the FA Cup, during their time at Whaddon Road, Cheltenham.

Unfortunately, we lost that one 3-1 and Dowse will not want a similar result.

A curious fact is that the two teams, Gloucester and Hungerford, have been drawn to face each other in the FA Cup on Saturday week.

For those not travelling, there will be the usual text commentary on @hrbfc throughout both games.
