A 3-2 Trophy defeat against Heybridge Swifts, in addition to having to play the match with 10 men for 85 minutes left Alan Dowson somewhat frustrated after the match and he'll be looking for a reaction in the National League South game against Oxford City this week.
Since our visit to Marsh Lane earlier in the year, the City have installed a 3G pitch which you would think would help them at home but they've been indifferent there, with just 13 points from 10 home games. Allied with similar away form, they're in a fight to keep out of the bottom three places in the division.
During Friday, Shandon Baptiste was brought in on a one month loan deal for the Beavers, coming from the City's professional neighbours, Oxford Utd. The midfielder is expected to go into the squad for the game and this will definitely introduce some competition into the squad, which can only improve performances further.
With no injuries from Tuesday night, and Sam Howes' suspension not coming into effect until Boxing Day, it's expected that it will be a full squad available for Alan Dowson to choose from this weekend, and he'll no doubt be looking for a positive performance to restore confidence ahead of the holiday back to back matches against Wealdstone.
Kick off at Marsh Lane will be 3pm, and there will be the usual live Twitter commentary on @hrbfc throughout the afternoon, in addition to live updates from the ground on Radio Wey's Saturday afternoon Sportscene from about 2-30pm (www.radiowey.org).
