Are you ready? Time for a new season...

The 2017-18 National League South season gets underway this weekend!

AFTER an impatient summer without football, the Beavers are champing at the bit to get started, and for their second season back in the division, they start it away from Beveree.

East Thurrock Utd under John Coventry are a difficult unit to crack and perhaps it will turn out to be an ideal opening game for the team.

Speaking this week to the National League website, Dowse said "It’s not an easy place to go, but I think if you’ve got to go there, go on the first day of the season."

“We’ll be up there I think,” he added. “I think we have a chance. I think we could have a good season all being well.

The Rocks have held the upper hand in recent contests, the Beavers' last victory being back in August 2015, when goals from Michael Kamara and Nicke Kabamba were just enough to give them a 2-1 win.

Can the Beavers do it at Rookery Hill this time round - having not won there since Alan Bray's goal in August 2013 separated the teams? On Saturday evening, we will know.

Text commentary will be available on the club's twitter feed @hrbfc from about 2-30pm and throughout the game.
