Eastbourne Borough 0 v 2 Reserves

The reserves made the long trip down to a windy Eastbourne and inflicted only their 3rd defeat of the season.  Playing with the wind first half Hampton should have taken an early lead, an excellent cross from Jacob peace was volleyed over by Joe Bennett when a header would have resulted in a goal.  The breakthrough eventually came after a corner was only half cleared and Angus Martin collected, turned and placed a shot into the top corner.  Defensively the side were solid against a good side and Milan Stojsavlejevic watched a few shots wide and collected a few crosses as Hampton looked the more likely to score.

The second half with the wind in their faces saw Hampton have to defend for longer periods but restricted the home side to long range efforts mainly, all of which failed to trouble Stojsavlejevic.  The Reserves increased their lead on the hour when a great set piece delivery from Sousa Mota was powerfully headed home by Ryan Halls.  After this Eastbourne had more of the game and possession although only tested the keeper once when Stojsavlejevic saved well to his right.  Hampton could have increased the lead further when some great play from Turner, Sousa Mota and Peace ended with a ball fizzed across goal eluding everyone.

An excellent performance from the young side who are improving every game and maturing well.
