Reserves 2 v 3 Hemel Hempstead

A frustrating afternoon for the reserves, wasting numerous opportunities to win the game against a hard working young Hemel side.  Despite dominating most of the game, poor finishing saw the side defeated 3-2.  Going ahead through Jacob Peace , Hampton were denied a penalty in the first half anf should really have been out of sight by half time but found themselves level after an impeded Lovett dropped a cross and Hemel tapped in.  2nd half saw Hampton again in control but continuing to waste chance after chance before giving away a needless free kick that was converted well.  The Hampton equaliser came from 16 year old Nathan Antwi after good work from Connor Bloomfield in challenging 2 Hemel players for the ball.  A second penalty claim was then turned down  after Karle Andrews was brought down and Hemel went up the other end and were gifted a penalty after Lovett was adjudged to have brought down the Hemel centre forward.  The penalty sending Lovett the wrong way with 5 minutes left.  Hampton continuing to attack created more chances and were given a lifeline with a soft penalty awarded for them.  Unfortunately the Hemel keeper continued his excellent performance and saved Huggins spot kick.  Still after this Hampton wasted 2 more good chances to get something from the game.  Overall a good performance but the game should have been won comfortably on chances created by Hampton.

Tuesday night we have a friendly for players short of games at Knaphill followed by Suburban League Cup 1st Round 1st Leg tie at Cobham on Thursday.
