DAN Thompson will be in for plenty of stick tomorrow – but nothing nasty, promises Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Mark Harper.
Portsmouth pounced for the Hampton starlet earlier this month, but a sour taste was left when Pompey refused to pay compensation as Thompson had refused to sign a contract, leading to a stinging rebuke from Beavers chairman Steve McPherson.
The Championship side have since farmed out Thompson on loan to Havant & Waterlooville, who Hampton visit on Saturday.
Harper said: “To be honest, I left it on good terms with Dan. He was going to come down and watch our FA Trophy replay, and I was looking forward to catching up with him.
“The lads don't have a problem with Dan either. There will be just the normal banter really, nothing malicious, although they will be winding him up and trying to put him off his game.”
