The Under 18's secured a massive three points last night (Monday) with a 3-1 victory over Staines Town in the Ryman Youth League - West Division.
With only three games remaining, The Beavers extended their lead to five points at the top of the table, and the title is very much in their hands knowing that even if second placed Staines win their remaining matches, two wins from the last three will see the title come to The Beveree.
In front of a crowd of 141, The Beavers went ahead just before half time when Shadrac Malembe tapped in Callum O'Reilly's cross.
Staines restored parity on 56 minutes when Joe Tuck volleyed home, but the lead lasted just three minutes when Malembe scored his second of the evening.
The match was wrapped up with 13 minutes remaining as Callum O'Reilly went from provider to scorer, getting on the end of a long ball forward before slotting home.
Manager Steve Bates was delighted at the outcome " It was a fantastic evening of football, and great for both sets of players to play in front of a large crowd.
Its in our own hands now, I am extremely proud that this squad of players have gone through the whole league season unbeaten at home, and we now have three tough away fixtures to end the season, but can take great confidence out of this result into those final games.
It was great to have such support from the Chairman and the First Team management, and great to see so many supporters attend the match, and hopefully we will see some return for more games here next season."
Next Wednesday (19th April) The Under 18's travel to Wealdstone and 24 hours later take on Bedfont Sports.
The season comes to its climax away at Aldershot Town on Monday April 24th.
