White Tigers silenced by 'swaggering' Beavers

Beavers comfortably pick up three points in Cornwall

Having made the long trip on Friday afternoon and having a Saturday morning stroll seemed to suit the Beavers as they
returned to winning ways with an excellent all round display which could have yielded further goals but ultimately left Alan Dowson a satisfied and happy manager.

The early signs were ominous for the Cornish outfit as Hampton started on the front foot and never let off; Christian Jolley headed wide after Harold Odamatey, back to his sparkiling best again, had broken free on the left allowing Josh Casey
the crossing opportunity; Nicke Kabamba was denied by a last ditch tackle after good build up play involving Jamal Lowe whilst
Brendan Kiernan was denied when his drive was parried by Tim McHale.

The only opening for the home side came when Louis Rooney linked up with Ryan Brett but Aaron Howe deal comfortably with the formers low drive and on 24 minutes the Beavers took a deserved lead, Kabamba driving home from 16 yards.

The home side rallied briefly and Howe had to be alert to deny Niall Thompson but there was no denying the attacking visitors
and Jamal Lowe doubled the advantage in first half stoppage time; The outstanding Tom Jelley and Kiernan linked well on the right and Lowe was at the far post where he chested the ball down and calmly rounded McHale before tucking the ball home.

The home side might have felt hard done by when a handball claim was waved aside immediately after the break and it could have changed the complexion of the afternoon but alas for the Tigers it was the visitors who confirmed their superiority and skipper Leon Solomon was outstanding as he held a vice like grip on midfield proceedings and was often at the base of much of his sides good work.

On 49 minutes Lowe took a superb crossfield pass from Jelley in his stride and probably should have been more clinical but delayed his shot allowing Smith to get a block in and that was merely delaying the inevitable as a sweeping move on 55 minutes led to Casey getting clear on the left and he fed Kiernan who turned sharply and drove home from 12 yards.

Chances came and went as Hampton dominated a deflated home side with the marauding quartet of Jolley, Kiernan, Kabamba and Lowe playing with a swagger; they all could have added to the tally but an away win, a clean sheet and three goals all made for a happy coach trip home.

Thanks to Pete Bower for the report!
