Last night Alan Bray and Elliot Bent were the latest new additions to Mark Harpers squad as they agreed terms for the coming season. In addition veteran defender Darren Powell also completed league forms.
Bray, who turned 26 in July, was part of Sutton United’s Ryman Championship winning squad and is an uncompromising defender who is comfortable at either centre of left back. He spent the start of last season injured before joining Kingstonian and has been very impressive for the Beavers during pre-season.
Striker Elliot Bent started with Fulham and has also played for Dorchester Town, AFC Wimbledon and Welling United. Also equally comfortable on the wing the 23 year old scored for the Beavers at Godalming Town last Saturday.
Completing the activity on Thursday night Darren Powell re-signed for another season. Powell who has had a long and distinguished league career in between leaving Beveree in 1998 and returning at the start of 2012 brings a wealth of experience and strength to the back line.
The Beavers kick off their Ryman Premier League campaign with a home fixture against Hastings United tomorrow afternoon. Hastings finished last season in 20th place, 6 points above relegated Leatherhead. With the squad now in place Harps and the team are raring to go and are looking to kick off the season with style and get the three points tomorrow.
